TROPICAL CYCLONE: WARNING

ISSUED AT 8:00 PM, 08 January 2017

TROPICAL DEPRESSION “AURING” HAS WEAKENED SLIGHTLY AFTER IT MADE LANDFALL OVER SIARGAO ISLAND.

•Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
•Residents of areas with TCWS #1 and over the rest of Eastern and Central Visayas are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides.
•Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Visayas and of Mindanao.
•Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals elsewhere are now lifted.

Location of eye/center: At 7:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “AURING” was estimated based on all available data at 35 km West Northwest of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte (9.9°N, 125.2°E).

Strength:Maximum winds of up to 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 75 kph.

•48 Hour(Tuesday afternoon):175 km East of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan(9.8°N, 120.3°E)
•72 Hour(Wednesday afternoon): 210 km East Southeast of Pagasa Island, Palawan(10.4°N, 115.9°E)
•96 Hour(Thursday afternoon):215 km West Northwest of Pagasa Island, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)(11.4°N, 112.2°E)
•120 Hour(Friday afternoon):615 km West of Pagasa Island, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)(10.8°N, 108.5°E)

Luzon: Cuyo Island
Visayas: Bohol, Siquijor, Negros Provinces, Southern Leyte, Cebu including Camotes Island, Guimaras, Southern part of Iloilo and Southern part of Antique.
Mindanao: Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte including Siargao Island, Dinagat Province, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin.

Wave Height: (Open Sea) 1.25-4.0 meters

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
